Thoughts

of a sunset, 9/11, honeymooners, the future.
By now, when I shot this image, all the sunset visitors and photographers had wondered off to other places and for awhile I stood alone in the gathering dark and thought that this was a tough date for our country, and yet I had just had the most wonderful moments with a happily newlywed couple from Dallas, Texas. I shot them unawares and offered them
copies of what I had. They were darling, happy and in that special place that newlyweds enjoy and so excited about their lives ahead. So uniquely American - so confident and assured. I was just out for a long walk, and then this interaction transpired and it was
such a lovely way to end a very sad day.

I walked back in the dark, ready for a soak in a hot tub and hoping my images of the couple came out okay. They did in spades....what luck! They will love the photos but I will love the attitude of yet another generation as they step up to assume their responsibilities. We are in good hands.
As far as photography, the color gets better after the sun fades to dark. When everyone has left. When you are quite alone.
